Purpose:

Purpose of the P.M.S. is the provision of a high-level postgraduate education in the scientific field of Environmental Communication, Health Promotion and Special Education and Training, providing specific information and promoting critical evaluation skills regarding issues of environmental texture and Special Education and Training. These skills undoubtedly need to be integrated and disseminated in order to promote the educational process in the school environment both in general and in Special Education and Education, but also in the community in general.

These skills will enable stakeholders to participate in and lead the implementation processes of appropriate educational – and not only – programs for both the general population and people with special needs, thus determining the quality of health and the environment in the next decades.

Skills:

At P.M.S., students understand the role of Special Education and Education as well as communication in addressing complex social challenges and opportunities related to issues of inclusive education, environment and health from a variety of perspectives. Acceptance of diversity and communication in relation to rapid social changes are essential elements for facing some of the great challenges of our time, such as the transition to sustainable living standards and coexistence of the world’s citizens. Effective adaptation to modern challenges requires a deep understanding of Special Education and Education, health and environment issues as well as their interactions from various approaches.

The P.M.S. It aims at:

  1. Promotion of social, professional and ethical responsibility and sensitivity to issues of diversity and interculturality.
  2. Providing academic knowledge in the field of Environmental Communication, Health Promotion and Special Education.
  3. Development of research in the field of new technologies related to Special Education and Education, Ecotherapy and Health Promotion.
  4. Development of multi-faceted professional careers of post-graduate graduates and utilization of the knowledge they will gain during their studies for the best performance of their professional work.
  5. Evaluation of advanced and complex concepts, approaches and methods from communication science, with particular reference to inter- and inter-disciplinary problems and approaches found in the scientific literature.
